Eli comes to town

Ok so as promised I have a few posts to make. My nephew who is 7 weeks old and his mother my sister Sarah are in town. Naturally I have stories to tell. The first is Chris is new to all of this baby stuff (well generally speaking). Eli LOVES!! to look at lights. In my parents family room there is a certain light fixture that gives off a rather bright light. So while Chris was holding Eli for the first time he became aware of this thing Eli likes to do and became quite concerned for the safety of Eli's eyes. So like any good uncle he placed his hat on Eli's face to try to prevent any damage to his eyes. Hence this great picture...

Ok so my next story is about Chris as well. He doesn't have any siblings only younger cousins that he rarely sees, so seriously this is kind of a new experience for him, so most of the stories will be about him. Chris got the opportunity to burp Eli, (new to Chris of course) anyways we were trying to explain that you pat his back lightly but not too lightly, which I think Chris was a little nervous and didn't want to hurt Eli. Then we explained that you had to support his head too. And Chris' only response was "I only have two hands" very simple story but really cute none the less. Well I'm sure I'll have more stories because Sarah and Eli are in town for a while longer and Sarah's husband Boyd is coming in too. So until then LOVE YOU ALL!!

My turn with the hat. Sheesh Eli quit looking at the lights!!

Chris and Eli I love this pic

Oh My

Alright so for all of you Twilight fans out there the movie ROCKS!!
Sarah got into town on Wed, and I had bought tickets to the opening show (I know I'm nuts) for Samm and I, but due to the fact that she is a junior high student she was unable to attend. So I took Sarah instead, yes it was late, yes we're old, and yes I'm up this early writing this. All in all the movie was worth going late, it was fun to do it with Sarah and I probably wont do it again for a while.
Just a little blog for now, I do have pictures and some cute stories to tell when I get some more sleep. LOVE YOU ALL

GrandJunction

Hello all!! Chris and I went to Grand Junction this weekend and fell in love with a town :) We needed to check out Mesa State to see if that would still be a possibility, and it was. It's a great campus, it's right in between both or our families and the town is great as well.
We arrived in town on Friday afternoon, and got settled into our hotel, then proceeded to the college to meet with one of the criminal justice professors. He was super nice and super excited about the program and Chris to hopefully be coming there. A good sign we thought. :) We asked him where some good restaurants in town were and he suggested a few, we thanked him for his time ans were on our way.
That night we went to a fantastic Italian restaurant called Dolche Vida, it was a little pricey but delicious none the less. next came the Gilato shop he recommended FANTASTIC!! They make their gilato there from scratch and when they can they use fresh Grand Junction ingredients. Chris had the pear made from Grand Junction pears. It was great, I had the caramel it was delicious as well.
Chris enjoys his Pear gilato

The two of us being silly with our gilato
On Friday night we had to pick up a couple of things at the local Walmart, and because Chris and I seem to do ALL our shopping if not most of our shopping at Walmart it was a good idea. Well, while exploring we came upon the toy section and to our amazement it was FILLED seriously Filled with Bikes so i had to take a picture

Can you believe this it's madness!!

Goofing around at the College

Saturday we went to the actual college tour, it was great as well. We really think this is the place for Chris to finish his BA. Then when we were done we had some time to kill and went and checked out the local mall, I don't think I'll have any trouble finding a Salon, between there and Mainstreet there are plenty of them to choose from. Then it was to the Ale House for dinner, yet another great and fabulous restaurant. We really enjoyed out time n Grand Junction and can't wait to go back. Sunday we packed everything up and came home. LOVE YOU ALL!!

The Baby Borrowers

So, Chris and I have come to know ourselves (well at least me I include Chris in it). We are not at a point yet in out lives to have children, not to say they're not in our future just not right now. So we "borrow" children.. And I LOVE IT!! we've been doing it since our friends daughter was about 18 months old, she's now 4. We offer babysitting services and don't expect pay, but we will take it if they offer ;). We watch the child then return them when we're done. So yesterday when my friend from work asked if i would like to watch her little one, of course I said yes!! And children never cease to amaze me. They are so smart, you teach them one thing and they seem to catch on SO quickly. Though it seems the learn what they want to, she can say Chris and I's names but doesn't know who is who, but Samantha she learned her name and when I wold tell her to go see Samm she would walk right over to her. She really loved Samm. Anywho anyone who has a baby we can borrow we would love to. Just let me know LOVE YOU ALL !!

Mothers

So I just decided to tell you all how wonderful it is to have a mother so close. Sometimes were a little to close, but it's very nice. Today I persuaded my mother to go to lunch with me just because I was craving soup and salad and didn't want to go alone. So, after much waiting (she got caught on the phone with her friend, some things will never change :)), my mother and I preceded to a cute little mom and pop restaurant call Lettuce and Ladles and had a very nice lunch. Thanks mom you're the best ;) Just remember to all you young and older ones out there; sometimes it takes moving away to really appreciate the company of others. LOVE YOU ALL

Current Pics

The Beginning

Hello All!! So there are quite a few family and friends out there who we don't stay in touch with but like to know what Christopher and I are up to, so I'm going to try and blog. Here is my first attempt.
Right now we're still in UT, in my parents basement. I just finished Cosmetology school again, in Utah they require more hours at school than Colorado (550 to be exact). If you want to transfer your license you have to have either 4000 salon hours or just make up the difference in School by going to a school. I went to Taylor Andrews in West Jordan and Loved it, I learned a whole lot more than what i already knew so it was a blessing, I feel more ready to be a great cosmetologist. I don't have to take UT state boards, I just have to do paper work, I'm working on that then hopefully will be in a salon.
Chris is still at Navitaire, he likes it but his passion will always been to be a peace officer. So right now we're looking at Universities so he can finish his four year degree and hopefully get started in the law enforcement field. We've looked at Weber state in Ogden UT; we liked it but so far we know they wont transfer most of his credits for Northeastern. We also looked at UVU in Orem UT, same deal. So we are planning a trip to Mesa State in Grand junction CO, we don know the credits will transfer and he can do the academy and get credit for it (we hope, they're working on a program to get that started, it's not in effect yet), so far Mesa is looking good. So once again we may be moving.
There's a quick summary of what's going on right now in our lives. We love you all and appriciate your lives blessing ours Stay tuned :)
